Hilo, Hawaii (June 18, 2018) – The Hawaii Island New Knowledge (THINK) Fund has awarded college scholarships totaling $1,050,000 to 116 local Hawaii Island students over the past 4 years and an additional $2 plus million to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) pursuits.
The Akamai Workforce Initiative’s Internship Program will hold its Student Internship Symposiums on Hawaii Island in Hilo and Waimea on Monday, August 7. Hawaii college interns will present their summer projects with a follow-up question and answer period.

THINK Fund at Hawaii Community Foundation (HCF) Scholarship applications are currently being accepted through HCF's common online scholarship application with a February 18, 2016 deadline. Applicants are also considered for other scholarships that they qualify for from the over 200 scholarships HCF has available.
The Hawaii Island New Knowledge (THINK) Fund at Hawaii Community Foundation, established by TMT, continues to support teachers in Hawaii Island schools to boost STEM learning for their students. Since the classroom grants became available in November 2014, over $84,000 has been given for projects reaching 6,594 students at 25 schools island-wide.
