Congratulations to Journey Through the Universe for 20 stellar years!
This unique program, led by Gemini Observatory in partnership with the Department of Education Hilo-Waiākea Complex Area and Maunakea Observatories, brings astronomy educators into classrooms to share the wonders of the universe and more with keiki.
In addition to in-person classroom presentations and career panels, the start of Journey week (5-9 Feb) included a community mahalo reception at ʻImiloa provided by the Hawaiʻi Island Chamber of Commerce and Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hawaiʻi. TIO was excited to join other astronomy educators in helping students reach for the stars and to celebrate this program with the community.
