Pasadena, CA - The TMT Outreach Team had a great time connecting with families and students of all ages at the recent Pasadena Unified School District’s (PUSD’s) Science Fest 2023! Held annually, the event is open to the public and provides opportunities to learn about science, technology, engineering, health, environment and the myriad of activities taking place all around our local area.
The outreach event aimed to inspire the next generation about careers in science, technology and other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) disciplines, and provide insights to educational pathways that students may follow.
More than 100 exhibitors and organizations based around Pasadena, including Caltech, JPL, Carnegie Observatories, Huntington Medical Research Institute, GMT and TMT Observatories, showcased new innovations and technologies.
“It was great to participate in the largest science festival ever organized in Pasadena that is also called the City of Astronomy!” said Nanci Préel Dumas, TMT communication specialist. “Visitors enjoyed learning about TMT and the US-ELT Program. Several of them are also eager to organize future presentations for their community associations.”
Thank you to the event organizers and participants for a wonderful Earth Day celebration.
